Everyone knows Rudolph the Reindeer. He’s the jolly, red-nosed reindeer who brings Christmas cheer to everyone in the world. But did you know that Rudolph is also crochet? In this blog post, we’re going to teach you how to crochet Rudy the Reindeer, so you can bring a little bit of joy of your own to everyone you meet this holiday season.
Crochet Rudy the Reindeer is a quick and easy project that can be completed in just a few hours. The finished Rudolph measures about 5 inches tall and 4 inches wide. You will need a worsted weight yarn in light green, dark green, red, and brown, as well as a size H crochet hook.
To begin, chain 44 (50 plus 4). Make 2 sl st in first ch to form ring.
R1: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), work 8 dc into ring, join with sl st to top of ch-3rd.
R2: Ch 1, work 2 dc into each of next 9 dc, join with sl st to first dc. (12 dc)
R3: Ch 3, work slip stitch into second ch from hook and each of next 11 sts, join with sl st to top of ch-3rd; turn. (11 slip sts)
R4: Slip stitch into first dc on opposite side of foundation chain (dc made in R2), work 3 sc into next sc, rep from to twice more; join with sl st to top of ch-3rd. (8 sc)
R5: Ch 1, work 2 sc into each of next 7 sc, join with sl st to first sc. (14 sc)
R6: Sc in same place as last sc worked, working 2
